Gutters for Edgemoor.
Edgemoor sits out toward the water past Fairhaven, full of large custom homes on wooded lots under big Douglas fir and cedar. Two things drive the gutter work here: the size and steepness of these roofs, which shed a lot of water fast, and the heavy needle drop from the mature trees. Standard 5-inch gutter is often undersized for these roofs, so we frequently step up to 6-inch with oversized 3x4 downspouts to move the volume.
On the higher-end homes, copper and half-round gutter fit the architecture and last for decades, and good micro-mesh guards keep the constant fir-needle load out of the system. We size everything to the actual roof rather than a rule of thumb, because a big Edgemoor roof in a heavy rain is exactly where undersized gutter shows its limits.
What we see on Edgemoor homes.
Common home styles
Large custom and architectural homes on wooded lots, many newer or extensively remodeled, under heavy conifer cover.
Popular projects
Oversized 6-inch gutter installation, copper and half-round on higher-end homes, micro-mesh guards for heavy needle load, and drainage sized for large roofs.
Rain & debris considerations
Large steep roofs and big conifers mean high water volume and constant needle drop. We oversize gutter and downspouts and fit guards built for fir and cedar debris.
